What do you think? Blog as website, or separate blog and website?

Blog as website. Blogs look so good it is hard to tell the difference, and you can keep your content continually fresh. See http://www.phoenixrealestateguy.com/, http://www.housechick.com/, http://tqinc.wordpress.com/- hard to tell where the blog lets off and the site begins.

I think you should do both. It's best to get your name and face out there so that everyone knows who you are and what you have to offer them. Blogging lets you communicate with your audience and then your website just shows what you could do for your client. Go for it.. Create BOTH

I have both. My web site includes personal and business info - my friends know to use it as a reference site. My blog is strictly business.

Thanks Lori,

Since I already have a website, will probably keep it and just add a blog. Ready to take the plunge.

This day and age with open source systems like WordPress and Joomla, it's just so easy to have both. Personally, I prefer a website that also includes a blog but it really boils down to personal preference and who you're targeting with your blog. Some agent clients of mine keep it separate because they want several sites and several blogs for all of their niches such as separate sites/blogs for communities, buyers, sellers, seniors, Hispanic audience, etc.

Currently have blogs separate from site but am contemplating integrating them with website. Cheryl, I agree with it being a personal preference for our multiple blogs are targeted for different markets.

Blog is interactive and permits encourages responding where as a website tends to be static information that someone would like to get out.
Why not add a google search widget to the template frame of either, the blog or website, that wouold permit people to search you sites by topic.

I feel like you should host the blog on your site whenever possible. That way, you have the compromise of keeping your static website with the SEO benefits of blogging. Also, it gives people a reason to keep coming back to your static site!
