Want to have a more customized Twitter Homepage/Landing Page? Many of us have custom backgrounds, but most of the information really can't be seen, and the Twitter Bio on our profiles doesn't allow for very much to be said either, so what to do?
Make your own Twitter Landing Page. Here's an example of the
Twitter Homepage I made this evening.
It's really quite simple- if you have a WP blog just make a
new PAGE. I found a program that makes writing for my Blog so much easier, and very intuitive. It's a FREE program from Microsoft, but you have to have Windows XP in order for it to run properly. The Program is called
Windows Live Writer and like I said, you can download it for free.

Matthew Rathbun made a great Live Writer
Tutorial Video for using this wonderful tool, and he even has the link for downloading the program. OK, so downloading that program really has nothing to do with making your Twitter Homepage, but it sure will make it easier in the long run.
Step1-; Open up your Live Writer (or in your Blog itself) and choose Make
a new Page , not a Post!
Step 2- Start Writing, and have links available to whatever sites or Articles that you want to highlight.
Step 3- Insert Graphic: If you want the Twitterqueens Graphic be aware that anytime you take a graphic from online it might be smaller that you want it to be. I went to the Slide show on here to get this graphic that@ Nik Nik made but it was too small. The Twitterqueens logo was only 139 x 99 which is pretty small, so I asked Diane if she had a bigger one, and she did....so I had a full sized one in which to work with (always better for quality)
Step 4- When adding links look at the various sites and find the link that is the Public one, or one to a page or post that you want people to go to. Sometimes sending people deeper into your site can be an asset.
Your Twitter link is found under settings- next to your user name is your URL. Take this and use it as the link on your new Twitter Page.
Step 5- For Linkedin, Flickr etc. look for the URL. For Blog Posts it is easy, as the URL is in the address bar, just copy and paste.
Step 6- When you are all done with whatever you want to show on this page, take the link (in the address bar) and paste this into the More Info URL on your Twitter Settings Page (it's the 5th one down the page). After you have deleted the one you had there and added this one click save at the bottom of the page.
Whola you now have a Twitter Homepage or Landing page.....and on all those cute little Twitter Birds that say Follow Me you can add the link to go to your new landing page first or to your main page on Twitter. Your choice. Just have fun, and make the page fit your own style and needs whether business or personal.
You need to be a member of TwitterQueens to add comments!
