TwitterQueens

Empowering the use of Social Media for Business & Personal Growth

One Friday night not so long ago Diane Guercio and I were both on twitter. She was discussing going out for a Girl's Night Out and I was whining that I had nothing to do. As it turned out, she stayed home that night and I went out and had a wretched evening. After coming home I complained on twitter..(I know, I know, I NEVER do that) and Diane and several others worked to cheer me up.

After that Diane and I forged a strong twitter friendship and over a glass of wine and twitter one night I said that we were twitterqueens. She hashtagged it and for awhile it was just us until other amazing women such as Maya started to catch the twitterqueen bug and start using the tag.

A short while later we decided that we needed a tweetup for the twitterqueens and settled on New York City. The following week Diane and I met IRL at PodCamp Western MA. During a breaktime discussion we admitted that we LOVED attending social media training and wished we could participate it in a lot more. In fact, we wished we could organize these events ourselves.

DING!

Twitterqueens evolved from a tweetup to a Social Media Event in that one small realization. Suddenly we realized...WE HAD WORK TO DO!

As we presented our thoughts everyone we talked with said they thought a social media event targeted directly at women was a wonderful niche to explore and most women presented with the idea have joined our league.

So now here we are with a website, amazing members (number changing hourly), an event, social media cards a game plan and a dream to bring social media to the forefront of womens' business plans.

What can you do? Well, for one, you can join the network! Then plan to come to the event!

We also need: sponsors, to nail down a venue (low cost), goodies for gift bags, hotel block at discount rate, t-shirts, tiaras and help spreading the word.

Twitterqueens unite!
